About Us:

The Garden of Edie is a sales and display garden born of a passion for daylilies. Forty years ago, I purchased my first hybrid daylily -- lured by a catalog picture captioned "A carefree border of yellow Hyperion" -- which began my love for the species. Today, I grow over 700 registered varieties which I look forward to sharing with other gardeners. Garden of Edie has been a NYS licensed and inspected garden since 2011.

The gardens are ideal for allowing customers to casually browse and select from mature clumps in full bloom - the very best way to appreciate and select daylilies for your own garden. Peak bloom usually begins the second week in July and sales events are held from early July through the second week in August. In our current catalog, over 250 unique, colorful, and hardy varieties are available for purchase, with many more being evaluated to see how they perform in our central New York climate (now USDA zone 5B) before being offered for sale.

In the rapidly changing daylily world, there is so much available for the home gardener to create their own exquisite display! Advances in breeding and the hard work of many dedicated hybridizers have led to a virtual explosion in daylily colors, patterns, flower forms and times of bloom. A summer garden full of modern hybrid daylilies is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of color that is fresh and new every morning. With the right selection of varieties you can have daylilies blooming from early July through September.

Daylilies are available in almost every color imaginable except true blue and pure white (the "Holy Grails" of daylilies which always being pursued) with patterns, ruffles, eyes and edges, spots and even stripes! Blooms range from petite 1.5-inch miniatures to cascading 10-inch flowers in exotic fanciful forms. My commitment is to offer affordable new varieties that have proven to be superior garden performers in central New York with distinctive and consistently good looking flowers, attractive foliage, high bud counts, vigor and true winter hardiness.

Please enjoy looking over the catalog - just click on Catalog. In almost all listings I have shown pictures taken in my own garden. I invite you to visit my display gardens during bloom season to select your favorites or simply to enjoy the flowers. You can click on the Hours link for specific times and events.

Happy Gardening,
